Most people think modeling is all about displaying for others to see, especially in regard to wearing clothing while performing the role of a fashion model. However, models often work in different fields.  First it is very important to make research on these fields, to know the one that really fits you. There are many commercial models that are advertising product for many companies like, pharmaceutical companies, manufacturers, suppliers, airlines, fitness companies, ring and watch companies, automobile companies, shoes and bags companies and so on. People don’t really know their names but they are making money. Figuring out which type of modeling is best suited for you and your personality can take some patience, but often the type of modeling you are best suited for will choose you. Successful supermodels like Heidi Klum, Naomi Campbell, Kate Mass, also start from somewhere and make it big today.

Commercial Model

Commercial models task is to be able to properly advertise a product or service. They can only be employed if they are between 5’6’’ and 5’11’’ tall in the case of females, and between 5’9’’ and 6’2’’ tall in the case of the males. Commercial models work on a variety of campaigns and are generally not restricted to one type modeling. Also commercial models are not restricted by age, height, or size, because their jobs range from product advertising to service marketing to promotional events for housewares,, cuisine, and  travel.

 

Fitness Model

Fitness models are very fit, toned, and athletically built. Although not all fitness models have background of an athletic. They are all about showcasing a healthy and well – groomed body. Fitness models are often commercial models. They can be employed to work for fitness companies, campaigns, supplement manufacturers and fitness attire. Fitness models must be health, competence, attractive, suitable, and lastly must have strength.

 

Fit model

Fit models are different from fitness models, fit models are models that work behind the scene and help the fashion houses the size and fit are firm in the clothing manufacturing process. Fit models helps fashion houses improves the fit of their garments. In addition, they also   make sure that the clothes is perfectly shaped and fit before it delivers to the consumer.

 


Glamour Model

Glamour means an item, motif, and person, image that by association improves appearance or alluring beauty. Glamour modeling requires a nice body, pretty face and shape. Glamour models embrace the sexier and sultrier side of modeling. They often work as swimsuit and lingerie models as well as commercial purposes, for example when their photos appear in publications such as billboards, posters, magazines, and advertise cosmetics.

Runway Model

Runway models are also known as catwalk models. They travel the world and mostly seen walking with best fashion houses and most expensive designers. Runway models have manufactured most famous models in the world. They are often seen on the biggest red carpets. Runway models have particular measurements so they’re able to fit the clothes that designers are going to be showing to their clients. Female models must be minimum of 5 feet, 9 inches tall, 34 inches around the bust, 23 inches around the waist, and 34 inches around hips, while male models must be between 5’11’’ and 6’2’’.  

 

Swimsuit and Lingerie Model

Swimsuit and lingerie models are different from glamour models. These types of model specialize in showcasing off following: such as model sleepwear, summer wear, undergarments, swimsuit or lingerie. And they mostly appear in commercial catalogs for various brands, fashion editorials and walk fashion runway shows. Swimsuit and lingerie models are often curvier and more voluptuous than editorial models. They also need to maintain their shape and size.

 

Plus  - Size Model

Previously the model industry only needs slim models. However, big brand s are now using plus model from size 6 to 8 and above. The models industry has seen a rise of models of all shapes and further size diversity. The plus size model market has become an essential part of the fashion and commercial modeling industry.  They are many supermodels in the world.

 

Promotional Model 

Promotional models are often hire for live event, conventions, promotional events, trade exhibitions, digital debut, live shows, conference and trade shows in order to help promote and sell a product. They must be outgoing, extroverted, highly interactive, articulate, smart, clearly understand the client’s requirement   easy to talk to, and have in depth knowledge about the product. Promotional models are also known as promo models or brand ambassadors.

 

Fashion Model

 Fashion models are also called “ editorial models”  in the industry.Fashion models are mostly used in magazine photoshoots for fashion magazines like Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar. They usually work for biggest fashion labels such as Valentino,  Gucci, and Prada.  Requirements for female fashion model’s are height ranges from 5 feet 11 inches  to 6 feet 3 inches. For men, the required height is 5 feet and 11 inches to 6 feet and 3 inches.  Fashion models showcase designers, current fashion or beauty trends, the latest in makeup, hair, skin – care, etc. they are many top fashion model are Naomi Campbell, Teigen Chrissy and Kate Moss. Most editorial are usually tall and slim.

 

Parts Model

Part models specialize in modeling feet, legs, arms, eyes, and hands.they normally use parts of their for campaigns. A eyes model can book jobs for makeup, a hand models can can book jobs for jewelry, nail, beauty – related products.a part modes works on editorial, advertising, and catalog work.

 

Print  Model

Print models specialize in print modeling; they usually work on a variety of campaigns, magazine, billboards, booklets, flyers, and posters.

 

Petite Model

Petite models are mostly not more than 5’1’’ and 6 feet tall or shorter no more than 5’7’’ tall. They can work as a small model in the glamour, commercial, fashion and part – time modeling industries. Some of the petite modeling are, Emily Ratajkowski, Lily – Rose Depp, and Aaron  Frew.

 

Freelance Model

Freelance models don’t work for any modeling agency; they are not represented by any agency. They are responsible for marketing, promotion, branding and networking themselves. Freelance models are not full – time models. They have fewer gigs than other models because they are not represented  by an agent or agency.
